APPROACHES The approaches to Port Colborne Ontario are clear from all directions. As this is the southern terminus of the Welland Canal, be prepared for large, commercial traffic. FROM THE EAST Keep at least .5 nm offshore. There is a private RED buoy off Cassaday Point. If you leave that approximately .25 nm off your starboard beam, hold a course of 285o for about 1.8 nm This will position you to enter Port Colbourne harbour on the range line and bring you right up the channel. FROM THE WEST Make sure you stay at least .5 nm off Morgans Point as there is a shoal running offshore. If you maintain a course of 090o for about 3.9 nm from Morgams Point, you will cross the range line leading into Port Colborne harbour. Once you reach the range line, turn to a course of 015.5o and follow up the channel. The channel entrance is marked with a 36' F RED light on your port (see Buoyage Note below) and a Fl GREEN light (E3) on your starboard. The inner harbour is marked with a prominent 50' Fl RED light to port and a F GREEN light to starboard. When you clear the Fl RED light, approximately .1 nm, change course to 325o and hold for approximately .2 nm til you reach the channel into the marina basin. It is marked with a Fl GREEN light to port and Fl RED to starboard, both mounted on the ends of the piers.
