Club Island

I haven't been there since I was a kid, but the place still gives me shivers... in a good way.
It was an occasional stop for my family, many years ago, as we sailed across Georgian Bay. While it offers the experience of being completely isolated, and getting to pretend you're Robinson Crusoe, the thing I remember most are the snakes. There are tons of them. I know they are an important part of the eco system, and so on, but they have a way about them that makes you feel unwelcome.
I remember a pivotal moment in my life, when I asked my father how they all got here so far from land. I had finally stumped him.
Club Island is a quiet and beautiful refuge with a slightly ominous atmosphere.
Its because this place is creepy and mysterious that I find myself drawn to search it out on here, in the hopes that I can take my family there soon. My son, unlike me,loves snakes.
